Section 85
Must be present on the specified date
(1) If a date is set by the court to appear for any work, the accused or the defendant must appear in the court on the specified date. However, if any of the parties to the case submits an application showing that due to uncontrollable circumstances arising on the specified date, the court may order the postponement of the date for up to twenty-one days at most twice.
(2) If a person who is required to appear on the date specified in subsection (1) has been detained or imprisoned for any crime, he must send a notification of such matter to the relevant court through the prison where he is imprisoned or imprisoned.
(3) For giving notice in accordance with sub-section (2), such person shall not be deemed to have passed the date during the entire period of such imprisonment or imprisonment.
(4) If a person detained or imprisoned under sub-section (2) informs the court thereof, the court may order the relevant prison to bring him or her to court during the pre-trial hearing.
